Proper Humidor Maintenance is Key to Protecting Your Cigars
Upon purchasing new humidors, your next step is going to be to set up the humidification device and hygrometer according to the instructions. Your humidors should be allowed to settle for a few days before you place your cigars inside of them. It is also important to ensure that the placement of your humidors does not affect their ability to function. Ideally, the placement of your humidors should be positioned away from sources of direct heat, air conditioning vents, direct sunlight, and drafts. These different sources of heat and light can affect a humidor’s ability to regulate its internal humidity and temperature levels. Once a week, you should open the lid of your humidors to allow fresh air to circulate in and out of them. Humidors are the only proper method of storing and aging your cigars. High quality humidors do not have to be extremely expensive. Finding an attractive humidor at a great price will be one of the best decisions you have ever made on behalf of your cigars.
